Want to WIN Karina Cooper's Lure of The Wicked??

Lure of the Wicked (Dark Mission, #2)

Lure of the Wicked
Naomi West was plucked from one prison and placed undercover in another: the gilded cage that is Timeless, New Seattle's premier spa and resort, where owner Phinneas Clarke—the most seductive man Naomi has ever met—may be hiding a killer. She's an agent of the Holy Order, trained to hunt the guilty and render justice. But while she's tracking down a rogue agent on a killing spree, Phin is determined to uncover her most damning—and dangerous—secrets. Whatever the cost.

Yes, I just happen to have one of these to give away ~ and isn't that cover AWESOME?

So, for a chance to WIN, let's talk about covers ~  Can you be influenced to buy a book by it's cover?

Will you pick a book up, even if you've never heard of the author, if the cover catches your eye?

What are some of your favorite things to see on covers ~ do you like clinches, just the hero, both hero & heroine, or maybe just the hero's torso?  Or maybe you like a step back, where you have to open the cover up to get a good look at the hero & heroine?

Any covers that stick in your mind as being particularly memorable?

Just comment & answer the Q's for a chance to WIN!!

  1. I am not a huge cover girl since I read the majority of my books on my kindle and you rarely see them.

I will admit to buying Jaci Burton's The Perfect Play just for the cover. I love football so it turned out I loved the book and all the rest in the series to date.

  2. Yes, the cover will influence if I buy them. Then, if I like their writing, I will buy others by same author no matter of cover. I like all cover types. My favorite would be both man and lady with look of love in eyes. Who don't like a hot man's body on book? I do not like when cover does not match characters, like a black hair man on cover but story has him blonde. I do love when you open cover and get a bigger view, very nice indeed. I do not like drawn covers, I like real people. Thanks for opportunity to win a book with a delicious cover!!

  3. Definitely - the cover is the first thing that catches they eye. If I like an author it doesn't matter as much, but I still like the cover to give an impression of the style of the book. If I don't know the author & the cover didn't appeal, I'll probably pass it by.
Jaci Burton's sport themed books certainly have eye-catching covers.

  4. I am a cover girl - the cover is the first thing I see and if I don't like the cover then odds are I won't look at the blurb - unless it's by an author I'm already reading or following. If this is print book - don't enter me in the contest because i'm only doing this series in ebook ....lol

  5. I have picked up books based on the covers, but I always read the summary and a couple pages into the beginning, as well. I want the cover art to give a good reflection of the plot, to reflect the "feel" of the book. Shinn's The Shape-Changer's Wife was good; so were Williams's Otherland novels.

  6. cover matters. I will pick up books and check out the blurb if the cover attracts me. I like covers that have bad ass females or smexy males. two of my favorites are: Endgame (A Sirantha Jax Novel)by Ann Aguirre and Dark Taste of Rapture by Gena Showalter (Alien Huntress)

    thanks for the chance!

  7. I do love to look at book covers. There are many that are very eye-catching, the ones that catch my eye the fastest are those with a hot guy, either with the heroine, alone, or just a torso or back shot. But, even if I love the cover the story has to sound good to me before I will buy it. If the blurb & excerpt sound interesting, I will probably try a new-to-me author. If the story does not sound interesting to me, I won't waste my money on it no matter how hot the guy (after all, I can go online and look at it for free or even download the picture to look at). There are way too many books that I can think of that I love to even begin to name :)

  9. I am influenced by covers. They make me look, then I check out the blurb & read the first page if possible.

  10. I am somewhat influenced by covers. I will pick it up if the cover catches my eye, but I have to read the blurb before I purchase it. I read more eBooks than paperbacks, so because my Kindle doesn't show color, I am not as affected by the covers anymore. I don't like those really "fake" looking covers though. You know, the ones where the background looks cartoonish. I don't know if that is the author's doing or their publisher, but they turn me off. I will still read one that has a cover like that, but it needs to be recommended to me or get decent reviews. I am just too picky sometimes. Lol.
There are so many gorgeous covers out there, that I cannot name any favorites. ;)
I like all types of covers though. The hero, the couple, symbols significant to the story, landscape scenes. I am not turned off by any of them. Great question. This story sounds like a wonderful read. Thank you for the opportunity. :)

  11. I will pick up the book if the cover draws me in. But I wont buy based on the cover alone. I need the book to sound good as well. Some of my favorites are the Night Huntress covers.

  12. All kinds of covers appeal to me and I do like ones that suits a story. I want to be able to tell what kind of genre it's from and the more interesting the more likely I'll pick it up and read the blurb. The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning has some pretty awesome covers! ICED looks great.

  13. I like it when the covers feature both hero & heroine, but the hero's torso is fine too:)
