Devils on Horseback Series ~ the Devils on Horseback kick off in book 1 with Nate ~
Amidst the post-war chaos that rains down around them, a controlling man and a desperate woman must choose between life and love.
Nate Marchand grew up as the only son of the town drunk. As a Confederate soldier, he found that order in the chaos was the only thing that kept him sane. Numbers, information, keeping everything in its proper place became second nature. The chaos of the war and its aftermath sent him into a rigid state that he couldn’t seem to overcome.
He and his friends, nicknamed Devils on Horseback, leave behind the aftermath of war to start fresh in the west. Their new business venture flounders and desperation drives them to take whatever work they can.
The Devils are hired to help rebuild a town ransacked by marauders. Everywhere they turn, they encounter secrets—enough secrets to turn the town to dust if they don’t uncover the truth.
This series is FULL of awesome heroes ~
and can you GET a better name?
Welcome, Beth, to Mimmi's Musings!!
I'm thrilled to have you
AND the Devils today! <BG>
~ I heard you attened your first AAD, in NOLA this year!! (I'm so
jealous!)
How was it?
It was phenomenal! I absolutely adore spending time with romance romance writers and readers. I've never been to NOLA before either. All of that combined together made it a wonderful weekend. Can't wait for next year!

~ You write under two Names ~ Beth Williamson and Emma Lang.
Is there a reason you went with two names? Can your readers expect
something different when they pick up each name?
It's not multiple personality disorder! LOL The truth is I write under two different names due to a publisher request. Regardless of the pen name, my writing style is the same - lots of character-centric, family oriented, cowboy kicking, emotional stories. :) The books are generally in the same genre - historical western. I try to make it as seamless as possible - with one website, combined swag and so on.
~ You write some hot & spicy books (I LOVE that!)
Do you think all the attention erotic romance has landed this year has helped
your sales out?
I certainly hope so! LOL. I think erotic
romance has been the "closet treat" for too long. People were so afraid to be
caught reading the spicy stuff for fear of censure, which of course is
ridiculous. Everyone should be proud of what they read, or write, because its an
extension of who they are on the inside.
I'm glad it's become more socially acceptable to enjoy erotic romance, even if I disagree with the stigma that had been attached to it. I fly my flag high and proud. :)

I can't agree more here ~ I fly my flag high & proud, too!!
I'm just glad that eReaders make it so that those who won't or feel embarassed can read what they want when they & don't feel the need to do it only behind closed doors anymore.
~ Do you have any favorite erotic/spicier authors you love to read?
Oh, good question. Tough question! I love to read Lauren Dane, Maya Banks, Shayla Black and Sylvia Day. All very gifted writers! And for erotic historicals Robin Schone, Monica Burns and Margaret Rowe. I also have to say Bertice Small could rock it with her spicy historicals. ;)
All GREAT authors, and all authors I stalk...er, read myself!
And Schone...she was one of the very first erotic romance I think I ever read. I know she was in actual print.
~ What do readers have to look forward to from you as both Emma Lang &
Beth Williamson in the future?
In 2013, Let's see, next year as Emma Lang, I should release books 3 and 4 in the CIRCLE EIGHT series. First is CALEB, next is Elizabeth's story, which will be titled after her hero, VAUGHN. As for Beth, she has the Malloy prequels on tap - woohoo! First up is THE FORTUNE, that is John and Francesca Malloy's story, second is THE PROSPECT, which follows the exploits of Francesca's sister Jo and her unlikely hero Declan. I have one other project still percolating, which is super sekrit, but it's a mash-up book and a paranomal western. I can't say anymore right now as my agent is pitching it (crossing fingers!).
Also as Beth, I am also rereleasing my trilogy, THE PERFECT SCORE, of erotic contemporary novellas. Look for those in November, December and January!
Paranormal Western?? Whoo Hoo! GO girl!! Can't wait to see that!
~ Today, we're Spolighting on The Devil's On Horseback series!
Can you give us some scoop on this series, maybe a little background,
and we might have to look forward to in the future in this series?
Ah, the devils. I love my devils. They came to me at a restaurant in December 2006 and I knew I had to write their stories. DEVILS ON HORSEBACK follows the post-Civil War lives of five men, ex-Confederate soldiers, Gideon, Zeke, Lee, Jake and Nate. Each of them has emotional and physical scars they have to overcome. The books follow their travels from war-torn Georgia to Texas. They're gritty, full of emotion and sometimes violence. And, of course, the love of a tough, kick-ass heroine. :)
One thing I always do in my historicals is to bring social problems into the story. People suffered from alcoholism, PTSD, OCD, and a host of other things that still occur today. It's human nature and we are flawed creatures. My devils show us their vulnerable side and I love them all the more for that.
I've been approached about writing the next generation of devils - the children of the men who settled in and around Tanger, Texas. I'm thinking that's a good idea. Who knows what kind of trouble the Blackwoods could get into? :D
Thanks so much for being with us today, Beth!
Sounds like you have a busy year ahead...I can't wait to see what comes out of the Paranormal Western!
Good luck!
