To Tempt the Wolf
In this third in the series, wildlife photographer Tessa Anderson must prove her brother innocent of murder charges. But when she discovers a gorgeous naked man barely alive on her beach, she's got a new world of troubles to deal with, not least of which is how he affects her with just a look, a touch, or a whispered word.
Hunter Greymore is a lupus garou, a grey werewolf. Hoping to keep a low profile at Tessa's cabin on the coast, he's drawn into her lifeand into her bed. His animal instincts war with his human half, but in the end, the only thing he can do about this fascinating, adorable woman is to leave her forever unless she becomes one of them.
Today's book up for grabs is from a FAVORITE sub genre of mine ~
SHIFTERS!
I wish I could tell you the first shifter story I ever read ~ but I'd be lying. I just don't remember, but I do know that over the years it's been the most consistently compelling lure for me of ANY. There is just something magical about a shifter ~ whether it's hero/heroine ~ that will make me pick up a book and give it a shot. I sometimes just go to Amazon and buy random books w/ Shifters that pop up in the search ~ and have luckily found some pretty damn good authors that way.
One thing that pulls me in so hard, I think, is the whole 'Pack', 'Pride', whatever they may call it ~ the sense of everyone being family, of supporting one another. While some are brutal and some loving, all have that bottom line of loyalty ~ AND I can't tell you of a shifter series YET that isn't the kick off of a series, or part of a series. How can you NOT love that?
LOL, yup, I get a little windy on this subject ~~ Now YOU tell ME ~
Shifters ~ love them or meh? WHY?
And if you LOVE them, what are your favorites? <BG> Odds are I've tried or have them in my HUGE tbr pile, but give me some ideas!
I'm always open for more SHIFTER love!!
Just comment to WIN ~ open to everyone!!
I love shifters too! And Terry Spear has great wolves, I've read one of her books and have another waiting - but not this one! They are just so primal and natural, and I love the whole "Mine" feel they get when they see the woman who is meant to be their mate :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE shifters! My favorites are big cats like panthers. So powerful and yet they still purr. Favorites that I can think of right now - Nalini Singh's Psy Changeling series, Maya Banks Amber Eyes, Golden Eyes, Lora Leigh's Breeds (even though they don;t shift), Shelly Laurenstons (all of them!!), Dana Marie Bell, J.L. Langley - there are just so many awesome ones to choose from. I love the whole mate concept, and the pack togetherness.
ReplyDeleteGotta love shifters! I think Singh's Psy Changeling swayed me over to the side. Well Kenyon too, gotta love her shifters, and each author tweaks them just right to make them their own. Though I often tend to lean to dragons, not enough dragons.
ReplyDeleteI love shapeshifters, the alpha males and females. I like the world building, the fact that danger seems to be a constant in their world, their strength and special abilities and long lives. Don't count me in for the contest because I already have all of the books in this series.
ReplyDeleteLOVE them...love the pack feeling of protectiveness. One of my favorites is The Psy Changleing series. Yummy, Hawke and Lucas all alpha male!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE shifter stories!!! I think that what attracts me to these books is that I am a sucker for HEA and what I love about shifter books is the whole mate thing. That the H instantly knows the h is his mate (mine) and the overprotective H and also just the fact that they can shift. Some of my faves are from (not in any order) Nalini Singh, Keira West, Leah Brooke, Tymber Dalton, Lauren Dane, Stacey Kennedy, Gwen Campbell, Kinsey Holly, Rebecca Royce, Dixie Lynn Dwyer, Crissy Smith, and Marisa Chenery..that is all I can think of right now. LOL Thanks for the chance to win!!

ReplyDeleteMe, too, Mariann ~~ I LOVE the 'mating' or whatever they want to call it. That strong pull, and overprotectiveness!! I'm such a sucker!!
ReplyDeleteAnd YES on the Psy/Changelings ~~ did you read Tangle of Need yet??
Thoughts? I'm scared to do a review ~~ I was all over the place w/ this book, lol
Thank you for the giveaway! This sounds like a great read :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of paranormal romance but I'm alright with shifters, especially the werewolves kind :)

I haven't read that many shifters stories! Only Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater and the first 4 books of the Sookie Stakehouse series! Shame on me I know! One of this type of genre series that i'm really looking forward to read is the ones of Nalini Singh! Thank you so much for the chance!
