The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden #1)

In a future world, Vampires reign. Humans are blood cattle. And one girl will search for the key to save humanity.

Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a vampire city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten.

Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them. The vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself is attacked—and given the ultimate choice. Die… or become one of the monsters.

Faced with her own mortality, Allie becomes what she despises most. To survive, she must learn the rules of being immortal, including the most important: go long enough without human blood, and you will go mad.

Then Allie is forced to flee into the unknown, outside her city walls. There she joins a ragged band of humans who are seeking a legend—a possible cure to the disease that killed off most of humankind and created the rabids, the mindless creatures who threaten humans and vampires alike.

But it isn’t easy to pass for human. Especially not around Zeke, who might see past the monster inside her. And Allie soon must decide what—and who—is worth dying for.

  3. Yes, I have followed my authors into YA's. Rachel Vincent to her Soul Screamers, Kelley Armstrong to her Darkest Power's, Gena Showalter to her Intertwined and a few others as well. The authors all seem to be able to handle the transition well.
Some YA authors I enjoy are Julie Kagawa, Andrea Cremer, Sara Rees Brennan to name a few.

  5. I hadn't read a book since high school. I didnt know the YA genre exsted.I saw a movie at Walmart called twilight. SO I decided to buy it. I LOVED IT! So I read the books and have been reading every since. I only read YA. I acquired so many books that I decided to donate some to the public library. I found out that they were operated with 2 other libraries so in order for my towns children to enjoy them they had to get on a waiting list for the book. I didn't like that. SO my daughter
just graduated she says "Mom give them to the High school library. They have no current books" SO I called them and found out that they had not had a new book in four years. I would love to win this book for our high school library. It is on their wish list of books.
    Thanks for the giveaway

  6. YA books are my go-to. I rarely step out into other branches of fiction (apart from 9-12 for favourites likes Harry Potter, which I don't think belongs in 9-12, but hey). I find that YA books tend to be a lot more interesting to me. Some of my favourite YA authors include Veronica Roth, Cassandra Clare, Julie Kagawa (of course!), Tahereh Mafi, and I could go on, but I think I'll stop there. My favourite books include far too many to list as well, but my most recent favourites include The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Mortal Instruments, and Shatter Me.

  7. I really enjoy YA. I love the fact that I can share them with my teen son. I would definitely follow romance authors to YA and have. Example is Sherrilyn Kenyon. :)
I am really excited to read Kresley Cole's new YA series!
Some of my favorites are Kristin Cashore's series with Graceling, Fire & Bitterblue and Jennifer Estep's Mythos Academy Series. I adore Gwen and her friends. :)
The Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon is a little darker than these in my opinion, but great books also.
I think that it is wonderful that you got to meet Julie Kagawa! Thank you for the opportunity to read this. It on the top of my TBR.
