Moon by Laurann Dohner: A Review

Moon (New Species #10)

Moon has been drugged, his memory shattered, and he’s now little more than feral, a dangerous threat to everyone. In their need for help, the NSO doctors turn to the only female Moon ever cared about—the one who left him behind two years ago.

Moon isn’t the same male Joy once knew. There are no rules now. If sex tames the wild beast and triggers his fractured memories, allowing him moments of lucidity, then Joy will give him everything, body and soul. She’ll do whatever it takes to save him—even at the cost of her own
life.
Joy was 466's shrink when he was first released from Mercile industries (there's a whole back story here, and while technically you COULD read this as stand alone for the romance, to really know what's going on here you need to have at least read the first few in the series) and before the New Species have established their Homeland, the first of their 'safe zones' for their kind.  Moon was enamored of Joy, and it was obvious that he was beginning to bond with Joy, Dr. Joyce Yards ~ but Joy was fearful that if she gave in to the want she had for Moon she'd doom them both.  At that point the New Species weren't integrated into the world, and a decision still hadn't been made about how or where they'd land.  Fearing that it could go really bad for them both, Joy fled without saying goodbye to Moon...
It's 2 years later and Moon had been shot with an unknown drug while patrolling the wall above the New Species Homeland that has caused him to become feral, and lose all memories of the life he's lead for the last 2 years.  Seeing that no one could get through to him, his New Species counterparts call on Dr. Joyce Yards, thinking she might be able to break through where noone else has...and she DOES.  Moon responds to her immediately, at least sexually...and Joy is able to bring him back from the effects of the drug...temporarily.  But Joy is determined to help Moon find his way back, so she'll continue to fight for him any way she can.
I so love this series ~ it's totally over the top, the characters love is larger than life, the heroes are huge, sexy, growly...and love their heroines insanely, in such a protective way.  OMG!!  Sign me up!!
Moon wasn't my favorite new species so far, but I did really like him, and really, really enjoyed his man love for his bestie Harley (hope we get his book soon!!).  His attraction for Joy was instant, but not quite as fierce or overwhelmingly instant as some of my fav New Species.  But I enjoyed this book so much, and zoomed through it...and NEVER let it be said that Laurann Dohner can't heat up the pages between a book, because whoa, Momma...the sex scenes are HAWT!!
M
LOVED it!!
