Have you ever met an author? Were you glad you met her/him? Did you feel like you were long lost friends?
I got to meet PJ at Lori Foster's Get Together this past year, and I adored her! We clicked ~ she's such a fun & interesting person! I was so lucky to get to connect and laugh & enjoy her ~ and she's now an auto buy for me for that simple reason. What about you?
Any good, bad or otherwise experiences to share?

Hi, I had no desire to meet an author until several years ago. I was given an opportunity to meet Sherrilyn Kenyon at a local bookstore. What a meeting that was. She was one of the nicest people I had ever met. We shared a lot in common including our southern heritage. I've never had a bad meeting and have met several authors since then :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, you were lucky to meet her, she is so AWESOME! She is a doll to everyone, I adore her ~ I met her when Alyx was just a little girl. She's now 20, and Sherri ALWAYS asks about her by name. She amazes me!
ReplyDeleteYes, she is very thoughtful and can talk all day long. I love it :)
DeleteI have met quite a few authors at book conferences (along with some great bloggers!). I have found amost all of them to be awesome! And if I meet and talk with an author, I am much more apt to buy their books. :)
ReplyDeleteI met with Megan Hart that was interesting, a very quiet person but an excellent author...

No I've never meet an author and I'm so jealous that you went to Lori Fosters get together. I found out about it to late to go :( but I plan on going next year. Maybe I'll see you there.

I've met many at conventions and signings. All good experiences :) I am going to AAD next year and will get to meet some of the authors I talk with online. Can't wait!

I've met several authors at a small local bookstore and this coming Saturday I'm going to a holiday party with several more authors - I'm somewhat shy in person so it's hard for me to kind of push myself on the author but I've really enjoyed getting to know the ones I've met and I'm looking forward to meeting more

I haven't had the opportunity to meet an author face to face as of yet. I have talked with some of my favorites on Twitter and by email. My sister and I are hoping to get to a convention one of these years. *crossesfingers* lol Thanks so much for the chance to win~LOVE swag and especially pens!! lol Plus this book sounds so good. This is a new-to-me author so I'm looking forward to reading this series. Thanks again and have a great night. :)

I have not had the chance to meet any authors yet but hope to be able to go to a conference to meet many of my faves. I just have to get past my tenancy to have panic attacks in crowds ;) PJ's book sounds great and I love swag! Especially things that I can use daily (pens, note pads, etc)

The only author I have ever met is Mem Fox. She writes the most brilliant children's stories. My workplace arranged for her to speak at a conference. She is just lovely. Warm & funny too.

I went to a seminar thing for Sylvia Brown and was called to ask her a question. There was a huge space between us and while I believed her answer, I didn't feel any sort of connection with her. When an author befriends me on Facebook or follows me on Twitter, I get the chills though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway,

I got a chance to meet Rick Riordan once, I had wanted to tell him how meaningful his books were to me because they were the only books that I had found that got my little sister (who is autistic) even mildly interested in reading and how much that means to me. Instead I barely managed to say hi :/. Oh well. Maybe another time :).
ReplyDeleteThanks for having the giveaway!
