"How long have you been in this time?" Arran asked.
Ian wasn't sure if he was grateful to be pulled out of his memories. He shrugged. "I doona know."
The others took their seats around the table, and Ian felt their eyes on him. He wanted to shout and tell them to go away, but they wouldn't leave hi...m alone until he gave them the answers they sought.
"Please, Ian," Fallon begged. "We want to know what happened."
"You want to know?" Ian bellowed and slammed his glass down on the table. It shattered in his hand, cutting him, but he didn't feel anything. "One moment I was sitting here, then I was ripped to pieces by Duncan's death. The next thing I knew I woke up to find myself atop a mountain with my god trying to take control!"
He rose and raked a hand through his hair. It was too much. The memories, the questions. He couldn't take it. He had to leave.
Ian started for the door, but Hayden blocked his path.
"Move."
Hayden shook his head, his arms crossed over his muscular chest. "Let us help you."
"Help me?" Ian asked with a snort. "Why were you no' there to help me when I needed it most? Why were any of you no' there to bring me back home when I sat cold and alone in that godawful cave?"

"Then he's a smart man. An even shrewder man would allow me to help."
Danielle stared at Ian. Before her stood not just the protector, but the warrior. His masculinity, the unadulterated virility that promised pleasure, satisfaction.
And sin.

She held her breath waiting for more. And he didn't disappoint.

The vigilant one. Ian hides the horrors of his torture – death and resurrection – at Deirdre’s hand from his brother, but Deirdre’s hold over Ian hasn’t waned. She’s deeper in his psyche than... anyone realizes.
